Ski and Summer Resort jobs in Japan are the perfect way to improve your Japanese, make Japanese friends, and learn about Japanese culture.

Resort Staff must be positive, hard-working, open-minded people who enjoy challenges, are prepared to step out of their comfort zone, and want to experience the Real Japan. They’re expected to work hard, but those who make effort have the time of their lives!

To be eligible for Ski and Summer Jobs in Japan, you must meet the following criteria:

1. Working Holiday Visa

You must be eligible for a Japanese Working Holiday Visa. Australian / New Zealand / Canadian / U.K. / Irish / French / German / Danish / and Korean citizens between 18-30 years of age, currently residing in their country of citizenship, are eligible. Unfortunately, Permanent Residents of these countries are ineligible.

NOTE: Japanese Citizens, and those with Japanese Permanent Residency, Spouse, or Child of Japanese National Visas are also accepted. Unfortunately, those with standard Japanese Working Visas (not Working HOLIDAY), are ineligible.

2. Availability

It’s really important to be honest about your availability, and to commit to the full term of your contract. It’s extremely difficult for the resort to fill your position if you quit early.

SKI Resorts – Jobs usually commence every Saturday in December, and finish March 31st. You may be able to stay and work longer (ie. if there’s a lot of snow, and the Resort stays open longer than usual). There are also a limited number of short-term jobs in Nagano which finish up by Late February. However, the longer your availability, the higher your chance of getting a job.

BEACH / GOLF / MOUNTAIN Resorts – Summer jobs usually start on the 1st of each month from May – July (July – Sep is the busiest period at the resorts, so we recommend you be available for at least this period). You must be available to work for at least 3 consecutive months. Applicants with longer availability have a better chance of getting a job.

3. Language Ability

Naturally, you’ll be working with Japanese staff every day, and you’ll need to communicate with them. The higher your Japanese ability, the better your chance of getting a job.

SKI Resorts – No Japanese language ability is required.

BEACH / GOLF / MOUNTAIN Resorts – Basic Japanese conversational ability is required for Summer jobs in Japan – you must have at least 1 year of Japanese study experience to be eligible.

If you’re looking for Resort Jobs in Japan, make sure you meet these eligibility requirements before you get your hopes up. If you’re eligible, apply online now – you’ll have the time of your life!
